    White Rosinweed is a drought-tolerant, long-lived perennial wildflower endemic to Texas. Unlike other members of its genus, this Silphium blooms white. Flowering along the thick, sturdy central stem, white-pink ray petals surround wily black and white central florets. Deeply-lobed, hairy leaves have a strong, angular appearance and always point in a north-south direction, hence the common nickname "Compass Plant". In the wild, this plant is found in calcareous, rocky praries. With a taproot that can grow to 15' long, this plant will withstand your toughest, dryest conditions. Proper drainage is essential to the health of this plant. Plant alongside Pink Muhly Grass, Eastern Silvery Aster, and Allegheny Stonecrop for a showy xeric planting.
