    Turkey Tangle Frogfruit is a fast growing, mat-forming native groundcover with trailing stems that root as they spread. Its exceptionally low and tight growth habit makes it useful for lawn replacement, suppressing weeds, and creating a living mulch between larger plants. The plant produces small, thimble-like clusters of white to pale purple flowers throughout the growing season, which are visited by a variety of small pollinators.Its unusual common name has an equally interesting history. “Frogfruit” is believed to be a variation of “fogfruit,” a reference to the plant’s frequent occurrence in low, damp pastures where fog is common. “Turkey tangle” refers to the dense network of trailing stems, which can become thick enough to tangle the feet of turkeys.Turkey Tangle Frogfruit grows best in full sun and soils that remain somewhat moist, but it is highly adaptable to a range of soil conditions. In warmer climates, the foliage may remain evergreen to semi-evergreen through winter
