    Woodland Phlox (Phlox divaricata)
    Phlox Family

This Phlox is a low-growing, spreading perennial with vibrant, deep purple flowers and creeping evergreen foliage. Blooming in mid to late spring, it forms a dense mat, making it an excellent ground cover and weed suppressor for shaded gardens, woodland edges, and naturalized areas. It thrives in part to full shade with moist, well-drained soil and is highly attractive to butterflies and pollinators. Once established, it can handle periods of drought. 'Sherwood Purple' is more vigorous and floriferous than the parent species.
