Little Miss Sunshine Goldenrod  (Solidago canadensis 'Little Miss Sunshine')
    Aster Family

'Little Miss Sunshine' is a compact cultivar of the well-known Canada goldenrod, selected for its tidy growth habit and abundant blooms. This clump-forming perennial grows averages 18” tall and produces dense, plume-like clusters of bright yellow flowers from late summer into early fall. The flowers are highly attractive to a wide range of pollinators, including native bees, butterflies, and beneficial insects. It thrives in full sun, tolerating drought and poor conditions once established. Though derived from a species known for its aggressive rhizomatous spread, 'Little Miss Sunshine' is more restrained and well-suited to smaller home gardens. Like others in the Solidago genus, this cultivar supports exceptional ecological value—serving as a host plant for dozens of native Lepidoptera species and providing critical nectar and pollen during the late growing season.
